Global Institute of Logistics hosts inaugural meeting of the Big Box Shippers Council

The Global Institute of Logistics hosted the first of three brainstorms planned for 2011 with Big Box Shippers across the world. These brainstorms will be part of the Institute’s primary research into the challenges facing shippers in working with the global maritime container supply chain. The remaining two brain storms will take place in September and November in Dubai and Panama.

The sessions are specifically designed for Big Box Shippers and participation is reserved for beneficial cargo owners who control in excess of 25,000 TEU annually. It is anticipated that when completed the research will reflect the combined views of in excess of 3 million TEU’s globally. This was the first time that Big Box Shippers contributed to such an initiative and as such our research and recommendations will have particular influence on publication.
