Welcome - Global China Import Logistics Council

Welcome to the Global China Import Logistics Council (GCILC) home page. GCILC is a working council within the Global Institute of Logistics to undertake research around issues relating to Chinese Imports, China’s Import Logistics System, China’s Domestic Distribution Network and Final Product Delivery. A key factor in the this research is the Chinese government’s recently announced 12th Five Year Plan, which contains a special focus on stimulating imports to fulfill the expected increase in domestic consumption needs.

GCILC is under the Chairmanship of Mr. Alex H.F. Chu, Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of Dah Chong Hong Holdings (DCHH) Limited, Hong Kong.

The objective behind establishing this Council is to provide companies, exporters and brand owners who wish to enter and explore the Chinese Market with firsthand knowledge, based on our research and real life case studies, for their successful market entry.

The Council will act as a platform for GIL’s Chinese and Foreign members to network, share and deliver a successful model to facilitate foreign products to not only enter the Chinese market, but also to become a continuing success.

The research findings will be proliferated in two sections:

  1. “The Key” - detailed Chinese market research on how to “touch the heart” of the consumer, i.e. to understand the needs and wants of the consumer and how to fill in these gaps.

  2. “The Bridge” - delivering Chinese logistics infrastructure and detailed knowledge on how logistics and distribution systems operate in China.
