Background

The Institute has established various committees in order to assist its pursuit of Best Practice. Institute committees use the following strategy:
  1. Form Committee: A cross section of stakeholders representing all areas of the relevant industry are invited to join.
  2. Agree Vision: The goals and what is to be achieved by the committee are established.
  3. Benchmark: The committee benchmarks against what the global logistics system has to offer.
  4. Hallmarks: Using the benchmarking data, the committee identifies the Hallmarks of best practice.
  5. Trademark: Having identified the Hallmarks, the committee then incorporates these into a trademark. This makes it possible for the committee to share its work with the wider logistics community.
