October 13th, 2011: The World Port Strategy Forum (WPSF) opened with a welcome banquet, where the Institute formally presented each participating port with ‘Best in Class’ accreditation for their work in emerging as port logistics strategists facilitating the development of an integrated port community.

The dinner was hosted by Mr. Ma Yongzhi, Vice Director of Shenzhen Port Authority, and featured an after-dinner speech from Mr. Joachim Coens, Chairman of the Institute’s Global Port Study Group.

Special reference was made to Valencia Port Authority, and its corporate university Fundación Valenciaport, in recognition of their contribution of 8 case studies to the Institute’s research. The case studies support the Institute’s assertion that the Valencia Port cluster is the overall thought leader globally in Port Unity.
